Thank you for the use of your camp. It is the nicest camp that we have ever stayed in. It was very well thought out when built and has a beautiful view of the river. My son thanks you for the finished off basement because I have a tendency to snore so he and our friend that came with us slept down there. We love the area so much that for now on instead of zone 2 being our fourth or five choice zones 2,3, and 1 are going to be our first choices. We tagged out 07:15 Monday morning - we had a antlerless only permit and got a small bull just off the Carter Brook road, weighing 407 pounds.

Thanks again!

After a few years hiatus, I returned to Aroostook County for a much needed snowmobile trip.  We arrived on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 and unfortunately had to depart early on Saturday morning, even though our stay was booked through till Sunday.  I will add, I prefer to spend my time at a cabin/home, rather than a motel room.  This was my first stay at Rilester River Camps and it definitely impressed me.

The cabin is much more like a single family home.  It is stocked with everything imaginable, from linens, towels, hair dryer, pots, pans, etc.  Everything you need is there.  It is maintained to the highest standards and truly shows how well it is kept.  It is super clean and looks brand new.  There is enough room for a small family, especially when taking into account the basement that has a couple beds and a ping pong table.  It has lots to offer for sure!

As one can expect from Aroostook County, the trails are magnificent.  ITS 73 is literally right in the front yard and crosses the property through the driveway.  It was groomed to perfection!  One can access anywhere you want to go right from the property.

Even though it was winter, I can only imagine what the summer time is like here.  The Fish River is located right in the back yard and is gorgeous.  I would suspect the fishing would be spectacular.

In terms of location, it is off the beaten path, yet close to everything.  Fort Kent is just a short drive away, as well as Eagle Lake.  In addition, my local favorites, the Lakeview Restaurant and Long Lake Sporting Club, are just a short jaunt away as well, whether it be by sled or by vehicle.  Pretty much everything is within a reasonable distance and at your finger tips.

UPDATE:

After having such a pleasant stay the first time around, a friend and I decided to stay once again at Rilester.  We were fortunate enough to have the cabin become available for our trip right at the last minute.  We arrived on a Thursday and departed Sunday.  Once again, it was immaculate.  Everything we needed was provided.  No surprises here!

We had a great time and the trails were great.  Weather was fabulous and much above normal temperatures allowed us to enjoy the trails without being extremely cold.  We saw a couple moose not too far from the cabin.  One was actually on the trail by the Sly Brook snowmobile clubhouse and the other was off ITS 96 about 5 miles from the cabin.  Was awesome to see!

Needless to say, I have found my new favorite spot to stay while visiting Aroostook County.  I can't wait to return!

Thanks again to Anna and the caretakers for providing a warm, comfy and desireable place to call "home away from home!"

moose_grondin.jpgMy father had a moose permit for zone 1 in October 2013 and we were fortunate enough to find this nice, beautiful Rilester camp. It was very nice due to it was the perfect size of camp for us.

The view was beautiful to wake up and see a river on the back of the camp. Plenty of parking , even with a snowmobile trailer we brought with us. We we're also excited that we saw a snowmobile trail in the front of the camp lot!

So our thought was ....can't wait till winter to rent this place again to go snowmobiling! Oh and yes ... We got a moose the first day of the hunt! Exactly 20 mins into the hunt! :-)

Having planned a visit with family in Fort Kent in May, I found Rilester Camp online.  After reading the reviews and seeing the posted pictures I decided to take a chance. My Dad and I were pleasantly surprised!  What a beautiful home in a gorgeous spot. Absolutely spotless, so comfortable, and everything you might need, as one would say "All the comforts of home."  It was so tranquil sitting outside with Fish River running by.  I like to call it The River House. I have stayed at Rilester on three occasions with my Dad, brother and sister this spring and each was as pleasant as the first. This is not a place just for hunting, fishing or ATV/snowmobiling, This is also a place to "Just get away."

A thanks to Anna, Paul and Helen for making our stay so pleasant.

We had a great stay at your camp!  We rode in on sleds for the weekend so it was nice to know that there was everything that we would need in the camp.  Very well stocked with linens, dishes, etc. and extremely clean.  Hope to make it back next year!

Fishing, wildlife pleasures: private, clean home.

We spent the entire month of June in this beautiful location, sharing it with several friends/family throughout the month. We saw rabbits and fox out our sliding glass window on the deck, looking down to the river. Chuck fished, caught trout, and we ate them, right on the property. The home is high quality, fully furnished, everything possible to make it like home. Comfortable beds, ceiling fans, washer dryer. If we ever needed something, we just searched and found it. Even a hose for washing the car (or feet if dirty). The lot is very quiet from road noise. Even insulation in the house, because we couldn't hear our snoring friends through the walls. Location great, near Soldier Pond for more fishing. We enjoyed hiking to the rapids (Airport Rd.), and up Tenth Mountain. Aroostook County is beautiful, and summer landscaping, potato fields, canola fields are great sights. We also saw a moose, deer, and listened to birds in the mornings. You'll never forget this lovely location and home rental. I hate to call it a "camp", because it's not rustic or old. It's modern and very comfortable. Thanks to the owners for giving a deal for monthly rate. We've shared this with many, many friends.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay at your camp.  It was perfect.  My brothers and sisters from the area said that they really liked it as well and would certainly recommend it to anyone who says they are looking for a camp to rent.  It was very clean and that is the most important thing for me!

I would certainly rent it again if I was in need of a place stay.  My daughter especially loved it.  She slept in the basement.  She said she felt like she had her own little apartment!

jon_moose.jpgYour place was more than what we had thought. Locations was great for our hunting needs. We were only about 10 minutes from our hunting location.  I was able to tag a bear and a moose. We saw over 12 big moose and 4 bears.

Paul (the caretaker) was our savior and the biggest help for us that whole week. Anything we needed he helped us out with. Either where to go for food or to find moose. Paul also towed my truck out of a ditch on one of the never ending logging roads.

Our experience up at your camp was one we will soon not forget. I would recommend your place to anyone I knew going up there for hunting or relaxation.

Thank you very much.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, your home was absolutely perfect for our family, plenty of room, warm when needed, very comfortable beds (which is important to me) and most of all spotless! The boys loved having their own space downstairs and it was great for all the winter stuff.

I hope you don't mind but we are calling Rilester our "winter home away from home" and plan to come back every year. We can't thank you enough for making us feel so welcome and for providing such a well supplied and clean home. We are already counting the days until we come back. Thank you again!

Our stay at the River Camp last summer was outstanding. We enjoyed the rustic setting, the peace and tranquility, plus all the comforts of home. What I enjoyed best was sitting on the deck on early mornings and drinking my coffee. Seeing and listening to the sounds of the river and the birds, and watching to see if the deers would come to the river for their morning drink. There were many animal tracks, the anticipation was fun.
Hope to see you next year.

What a wonderful family vacation we had at this camp. It literally was home away from home. We only had to bring our clothes and food, everything else was there. We have 3 small children and there was lots of space outdoors to run and play.

The view, the water, just the tranquility of it all was amazing. We were saddened to see that the camp is already been booked for the whole summer of 2009. Absolutely 5 Star!!!!

My mom and I stayed at the cottage for a long weekend and didn't want to leave! Everything we needed was there and the view to the water was breathtaking. The cottage was cozy and warm...even during the ice storm! The property is in excellent condition; we truly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it to others.
